Syria’s President Ahmad al-Sharaa Celebrates First Year in Office, Focuses on Justice and Development

Damascus: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa marked the first anniversary of his tenure, emphasizing the country's future will be constructed through justice, stability, and comprehensive development.

According to Anadolu Agency, in a message shared on the US social media company X, Sharaa reflected on the sacrifices and patience demonstrated by the Syrian people over the past year. He expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him as president of the Syrian Arab Republic, and his commitment to living up to this responsibility.

Sharaa outlined his vision for Syria's future, emphasizing a collective effort grounded in firm justice, lasting stability, and inclusive development. He articulated a vision of reshaping Syria that restores the country's status and meets the people's aspirations.

On January 29, 2025, the Military Operations Command announced Sharaa's assumption of presidential duties for a transitional period following the fall of the Assad regime in December 2024. His first year in office has been characterized by significant political decisions, economic reforms, and diplomatic initiatives, signaling what officials describe as a 'new era' focused on unity, reconstruction, and stability.
