Ankara: Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus stated that Syria's territorial integrity and national sovereignty are 'non-negotiable.'

According to Anadolu Agency, Kurtulmus expressed that a participatory system, fair representation for all groups, and a democratic Syria would serve as 'the region's insurance.' In his social media statement, he emphasized that Trkiye is closely monitoring and appreciating the steps taken in Syria's integration process.

Kurtulmus highlighted the importance of full adherence to the memorandum signed between the Syrian government and the YPG/SDF group on March 10, 2025, as well as the provisions of the Jan. 30 agreement. He asserted that following these commitments would lead to peace in Syria and stability in the region. He described the deal's aim of gradual military and administrative integration as a significant opportunity, potentially strengthening Syria's state capacity and creating a new security framework.

He stressed that no identity or belief should be excluded and emphasized the necessity for every Syrian citizen to have an 'honorable and secure' place in the political system. He warned that fragmentation and proxy structures would not lead to peace, asserting that 'Syria belongs to Syrians.'

Kurtulmus confirmed Trkiye's commitment to support Syria's unity and reconstruction efforts, stating that the country is "ready to provide every kind of support" for rebuilding institutions, border security, and counterterrorism.
