TEKNOFEST to Take Place in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in May

Ankara: Trkiye's premier technology event, TEKNOFEST, is set to take place from May 1-4 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The organizers announced this on Monday, promising an exciting four-day celebration of innovation and technology at the Ercan Airport.

According to Anadolu Agency, the festival will feature technology competitions across seven main categories and 14 subcategories. These competitions will highlight advancements in fields such as social innovation, autonomous flight systems, and cybersecurity. The event alternates between various Turkish cities in even years and the metropolis of Istanbul in odd years.

Last year, the festival was held in Adana and attracted approximately 1.1 million visitors. The first 10 editions of the event welcomed over 10 million people and received over 4 million competition applications. In 2023, TEKNOFEST was held three times in honor of Trkiye's centennial, taking place in Istanbul, the capital Ankara, and the Aegean city of Izmir.

This year, the event will be held twice, first in TRNC and later in Istanbul. Participants will compete for a total of 5.5 million Turkish liras (almost $155,000) in prizes and financial support. Since 2018, Anadolu has served as TEKNOFEST's global communications partner, underscoring the festival's significance in promoting innovation and technical growth in Trkiye.
