Terror Groups Won’t Be Allowed to Exploit Current Situation in Syria: Trkiye’s Stance

Ankara: Trkiye's National Security Council has firmly stated that the PKK/YPG terrorist organization will not be permitted to take advantage of the current situation in Syria. The council emphasized that all terrorist groups in the region will be targeted for elimination.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Directorate of Communications, quoting a council statement, clarified that the PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG will not be allowed to exploit any developments in Syria. The council also highlighted the commitment to eliminate all terrorist organizations that pose a threat to the friendly and brotherly peoples in the region.

The council's statement criticized Israel's continued actions on Syrian territory, noting that such actions threaten regional stability and breach international law. The commitment to supporting the new administration in Syria was reaffirmed, with an emphasis on safeguarding the state's sovereignty, unitary structure, territorial integrity, and political unity. Additionally, the statement underlined the importance of guaranteeing the fundamental rights and freedoms of all ethnic, religious, and sectarian groups in Syria to facilitate the country's reconstruction and restore peace and prosperity.

Furthermore, the council called for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, viewing it as a foundation for resolving the Palestinian issue. The importance of providing uninterrupted humanitarian aid to Gaza was also stressed.

Trkiye's efforts in promoting global peace and stability will continue, with a focus on conflict resolution in regions such as Africa, the Middle East, and the Balkans. The council concluded by emphasizing the prevention of escalation into violence and the peaceful resolution of ongoing disputes.
