Winterthur: Three people were injured in a stabbing attack Thursday morning at the train station in the Swiss city of Winterthur, northeast of Zurich, according to Zurich cantonal police. The incident unfolded shortly after 8:30 am local time (0630GMT) when a man, armed with a bladed weapon, targeted several individuals at the bustling station.
According to Anadolu Agency, authorities have reported that the suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss national, was apprehended at the scene. The three victims, also Swiss nationals aged 28, 43, and 52, were promptly transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
The motive behind the attack is currently under investigation, as police work to uncover the reasons behind this sudden act of violence. Winterthur, known as one of Switzerland's largest railway hubs, is situated northeast of Zurich and is a key point in the country's rail network.
