Timberwolves Overcome Lakers to Secure 2-1 Series Lead in NBA Playoffs

Ankara: The Minnesota Timberwolves emerged victorious against the Los Angeles Lakers with a 116-104 win on Friday night, seizing a 2-1 advantage in their Western Conference first-round playoff series. The triumph at the Target Center marked a pivotal moment for the Timberwolves in the best-of-seven series.

According to Anadolu Agency, Jaden McDaniels was instrumental in the Timberwolves' success, contributing 30 points and 5 rebounds. His efforts were complemented by Anthony Edwards, who added 29 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists, ensuring the team's dominance over the Lakers.

On the opposing side, LeBron James showcased an impressive performance, scoring 38 points. His feat set a new NBA record as he became the oldest player, at 40 years old, to score more than 35 points in a playoff game. Despite his efforts, the Lakers were unable to surpass the Timberwolves.

The series continues with the fourth game scheduled for Saturday, where both teams will vie for supremacy in the playoff series, aiming for four wins to advance to the next round.

In other NBA playoff results, the Orlando Magic edged out the Boston Celtics 95-93, though the Celtics still lead the series 2-1. Meanwhile, the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Indiana Pacers 117-101, but the Pacers maintain a 2-1 series lead.
