Kyiv: Head of Ukraine's Presidential Office Andriy Yermak stated on Tuesday that Kyiv is discovering Indian-made components in Russian drones deployed against Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, the New Delhi-based Hindustan Times reported that an investigation by Ukrainian authorities has identified the use of electronic components from two companies, Vishay Intertechnology and Aura Semiconductor, by Russia in crafting attack drones. The investigation's findings have been shared with India's Foreign Ministry through formal diplomatic channels on at least two occasions since last year. Additionally, the issue was discussed with EU sanctions envoy David O'Sullivan before his recent visit to New Delhi.

The report, citing anonymous sources and documents reviewed by the Hindustan Times, revealed that Ukraine has raised concerns about the matter. In response, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal emphasized India's commitment to its international non-proliferation obligations and its stringent domestic legal and regulatory framework. He stated that due diligence is conducted to ensure that exports do not breach any laws.

Yermak expressed his concerns on Telegram, sharing the Hindustan Times report and highlighting that these drones are being used against both frontline positions and civilians in Ukraine. He emphasized the importance of preventing Russia from acquiring components from other countries to halt the violence against Ukrainians. Furthermore, Yermak pointed out that purchasing Russian energy resources indirectly funds the ongoing conflict, thereby hindering peace efforts.

As of now, Indian authorities have not provided an immediate response to Yermak's statement.
