Milan:Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu will be absent from the rest of the 2026 MotoGP season following confirmation that a shoulder injury requires surgery, as announced by Prima Pramac Yamaha.
According to Anadolu Agency, Razgatlioglu, 30, underwent further medical evaluations in Milan after dislocating his right shoulder in a crash during practice for the Indonesian Grand Prix at Mandalika. The assessments revealed the injury was more serious than initially thought, leading to the decision for surgery scheduled for next Monday in Milan.
The rehabilitation process will prevent Razgatlioglu from participating in the final five rounds of the championship, starting with the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island this weekend. Expressing his disappointment, Razgatlioglu noted that Phillip Island is among his favorite circuits and holds special memories from his Superbike career.
He stated that the decision to undergo surgery was difficult but was made after consulting with doctors and close advisors, deeming it necessary for his future. Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez will take his place for the remaining races, starting with the Australian event.
Razgatlioglu, a three-time World Superbike champion, joined Prima Pramac Yamaha for the 2026 season, marking his MotoGP debut.
