London: English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur has expressed strong condemnation of the racial abuse directed at French striker Mathys Tel after their UEFA Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

According to Anadolu Agency, the club publicly addressed the issue on the US social media platform X, expressing their disgust over the incident. Tottenham stated their commitment to collaborating with authorities and social media companies to identify and take action against the perpetrators of the abuse.

The abuse occurred after Tottenham's narrow loss to PSG, where they were defeated 4-3 in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw in regular time. The club praised Tel for his bravery in taking a penalty and criticized the abusers as cowards hiding behind anonymity to express their hateful views.
