Trkiye, 7 Other Nations Condemn Israeli Strikes on Gaza Healthcare and Civilian Infrastructure

Ankara: Trkiye and seven other countries have issued a strong condemnation of Israel's recent attacks on healthcare facilities, medical infrastructure, and civilian sites in the Gaza Strip, asserting that these actions violate international law and threaten the progress of a Gaza peace plan.

According to Anadolu Agency, the foreign ministers of Trkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates jointly denounced Israel's continued violations in Gaza. They highlighted that these attacks have resulted in civilian casualties, with a significant impact on women and children.

The ministers emphasized that these actions represent a "clear breach" of international law and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. They warned that such attacks could undermine efforts to implement the plan's second phase, following the acceptance of a roadmap by Palestinian factions as announced by US President Donald Trump.

The joint statement underscored the importance of protecting civilians and medical facilities while ensuring the safe and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid across Gaza, citing these as legal obligations under international law.

The statement also connected the situation in Gaza with settler attacks in the occupied West Bank, the expansion of illegal Israeli settlements, and unilateral actions aimed at altering the status quo in occupied East Jerusalem. The ministers described these practices as part of a systematic policy to impose a new reality by force, undermining the two-state solution and violating the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

They called upon the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by taking effective measures to ensure Israel's compliance with international law, including international humanitarian law and UN Security Council Resolution 2803. They also emphasized the need to hold accountable those responsible for serious violations.

The ministers rejected any attempts to annex the occupied Palestinian territory or forcibly displace Palestinians, reaffirming that lasting peace requires a two-state solution based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
