Baku: Trkiye and Azerbaijan are being hailed as 'two islands of stability' amidst numerous regional challenges, according to Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who made the statement on Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan emphasized the strong cooperation and solidarity between Ankara and Baku in the face of global challenges and regional developments. His remarks were shared on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal following his recent visit to Azerbaijan.

Fidan's visit coincided with the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from occupation, which he described as a 'fortunate coincidence.' During his visit, Fidan was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and engaged in comprehensive talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov.

The discussions focused on regional crises and efforts to establish lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the South Caucasus, along with considerations of the common future of the Turkic world. The two sides explored ways to advance economic and trade relations, joint projects in energy and transportation, and cooperation in security.

Fidan expressed a commitment to deepen cooperation with Azerbaijan, stating, "We will continue to further deepen our cooperation with brotherly Azerbaijan and walk shoulder to shoulder toward our common goals." He also extended gratitude to Bayramov and Azerbaijani officials for their hospitality.
