Tbilisi: Trkiye and Georgia have entered into a new era of cooperation in the field of health care with the signing of a memorandum of understanding. This significant agreement was finalized during an official visit to Georgia by the Turkish Health Minister, Kemal Memisoglu.

According to Anadolu Agency, Memisoglu's visit included a meeting with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Sarjveladze, in the capital city of Tbilisi. The discussions underscored the strategic cooperation between the two nations and their shared goals in enhancing health care systems.

The Georgian Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, also held discussions with Memisoglu and his delegation. A statement from Prime Minister Kobakhidze's office highlighted the successful outcomes of the meeting, emphasizing the established close cooperation in the health sector, which has led to tangible improvements in providing quality health services and better financial access to medicines for citizens.

Kobakhidze remarked that the newly signed pact is expected to further strengthen the collaborative efforts between Trkiye and Georgia. In addition to the memorandum signing, Memisoglu's visit included a meeting with Zaza Lominadze, head of the Georgian Parliament's Health Committee, and a visit to the Lugar Laboratory in Tbilisi.
