Ankara: Foreign ministers from Trkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates have issued a strong condemnation against Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir for his actions towards participants of a Gaza-bound flotilla detained in Israel. They labeled his treatment of the detainees as 'appalling, degrading and unacceptable.'
According to Anadolu Agency, the ministers released a joint statement criticizing Ben-Gvir's public humiliation of the detainees, describing it as a 'disgraceful assault on human dignity' and a violation of Israel's obligations under international humanitarian and human rights laws.
The ministers also condemned what they termed as illegal acts of incitement and violence by Ben-Gvir and other Israeli officials against Palestinians in the occupied territories. They warned that such actions could incite hatred and extremism, potentially undermining efforts toward a two-state solution and lasting peace in the region.
The joint statement demanded accountability for Ben-Gvir's actions and called for measures to prevent further provocations and violations. It emphasized the importance of protecting human rights, ensuring the humane treatment of all detainees, and upholding international law in the occupied Palestinian territories.
