Trkiye Condemns Attack on Freedom Flotilla Coalition Aid Ship

Ankara: Trkiye on Friday condemned "in the strongest terms" an attack on a civilian ship belonging to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. The group that organized the mission stated that Conscience, the humanitarian aid ship bound for Gaza with 16 people on board, came under a drone attack in international waters off Malta on Friday.

According to Anadolu Agency, there are allegations that the ship was targeted by Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles. Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli addressed the incident on X, asserting that all necessary efforts will be made to uncover the details of the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Keceli confirmed that the vessel was carrying Turkish citizens and noted that the health of the crew and passengers on board is "good." He also mentioned that necessary efforts are being undertaken in collaboration with Maltese authorities to ensure the safe transfer of the Turkish citizens to a secure location.
