HAIFA: Trkiye on Tuesday condemned an 'unlawful' Israeli police intervention targeting a TRT Arabic news crew broadcasting from the northern Israeli city of Haifa. Trkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun said in a statement on X that Israeli police shut down a live broadcast by TRT Arabic correspondent Fehmi Shtewe and his team, seizing their equipment.

According to Anadolu Agency, Altun added that police also used force against journalists from the Egyptian television channel Alghad TV. He criticized the Israeli government for its actions against journalists who report on the alleged massacres, bloodshed, and regional destabilization attributed to Israel, which he claims pose a threat to world peace.

Altun denounced the incident as 'a heinous assault on the freedom of the press and the right to information.' He called on global public opinion to reflect on the perceived inaction of the West and its institutions when such violations are attributed to Israel, suggesting a disregard for norms and values.
