Ankara: Trkiye on Wednesday condemned Tuesday's attack on Iraqi soldiers by the PKK-affiliated Sinjar Resistance Units (YBS) in northern Iraq. In a post on X, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oncu Keceli expressed the country's stance against the assault and conveyed wishes for the recovery of the wounded Iraqi soldiers.
According to Anadolu Agency, Keceli stated, "We condemn the attack carried out on March 18 by the PKK-affiliated YBS against members of the Iraqi army in Sinjar and wish the wounded Iraqi soldiers a speedy recovery." He emphasized the ongoing threat posed by the PKK terrorist group and its affiliates to Iraq's national security.
Keceli further noted Trkiye's commitment to continuing the fight against the PKK and its extensions in collaboration with Iraq. This incident underscores the persistent security challenges in the region and highlights the importance of joint efforts between Trkiye and Iraq to combat terrorism.
