Ankara: Trkiye's Foreign Ministry expressed its condolences Wednesday for those who lost their lives in an explosion at a warehouse in Syria's northwestern province of Idlib, where remnants of war were being collected. The ministry conveyed its sympathy, highlighting the tragic loss of life caused by the blast in the Sarmada district.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ministry released a statement expressing deep sorrow over the incident, which resulted in casualties. The explosion occurred at an ammunition depot in Sarmada, Idlib. The ministry's statement read, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives in an explosion which occurred today (9 September) at an ammunition depot in Sarmada, Idlib."

Further details from the statement included a message of condolences: "We wish Allah's mercy upon those who lost their lives in this tragic accident and extend our condolences to their families and to the people of Syria."

The explosion resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to 10 others at a temporary facility used for collecting weapons and war remnants, as reported by Syrian authorities.
