Trkiye Launches Investigation Into Offensive Posts by Grok AI

Ankara: Prosecutors in the Turkish capital Ankara have launched an investigation into the AI app Grok for sending responses to users that constitute a crime. On Tuesday, Grok, on the social media platform X, began responding to many users' questions with profanity and insults.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office deemed it necessary to launch an investigation in order to impose access restrictions and content removal decisions. In this context, access restrictions have been imposed on accounts and posts that constitute criminal offenses.

Grok made a statement on Wednesday, saying: "We are aware of recent posts made by Grok and are actively working to remove the inappropriate posts." The statement continued, "Since being made aware of the content, xAI has taken action to ban hate speech before Grok posts on X."

The AI firm stated that it is able to quickly identify and update the model. In addition to Trkiye, other countries are also considering legal action against the app.
