Muscat: The international business and trade event OMNEX 2026, which kicked off on Monday, continued on Tuesday with a focus on boosting economic and commercial relations between Trkiye and Oman. The OMNEX 2026 is being held in the Omani capital of Muscat, with Anadolu Agency serving as the global communications partner.

According to Anadolu Agency, a panel discussion was held as part of the event, attended by Turkish Deputy Trade Minister Sezai Ucarmak and the chairs of the Trkiye-Oman Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK), Yunus Ete and Salim Abdullah Al Rawas. Ucarmak highlighted ongoing challenges linked to Trkiye's geopolitical position but noted that efforts are underway to address them.

Ucarmak emphasized that improving land access from Trkiye to Oman could foster a strong cooperative environment, particularly for the food and agriculture sectors. He stated, "We don't aim for profit in all our relations, and we always strive for mechanisms that benefit both sides."

Ete remarked that the forum has been productive thus far and will continue with business-to-business (B2B) meetings. Al Rawas pointed out that Oman's free zones attract investors, and the country's industrial, tourism, trade, and information technology (IT) sectors present significant opportunities.

Al Rawas further stated, "Integration between Turkish and Omani firms will have a positive impact on both economies. Oman serves as a gateway for Turkish companies and foreign investors to access large markets with its strategic geographical location and political stability." He noted that strong Trkiye-Oman relations have already facilitated numerous projects, with more expected in the future. He concluded by emphasizing the need for collaboration to achieve the trade volume target of $5 billion.
