Belem: Trkiye places energy transformation at the heart of its development strategy, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said on Friday, emphasizing that the country's clean energy policies also contribute to its macroeconomic stability. He expressed satisfaction in sharing Trkiye's energy transformation vision during the energy transition session in Belem, Brazil, as part of the COP30 climate change conference.

According to Anadolu Agency, Yilmaz highlighted that Trkiye has increased the share of renewable energy in its installed capacity to 60%. He noted that securing, affording, and sustainably meeting the growing global demand for energy necessitates an integrated approach. "Through energy efficiency, technological investments, and diversification of resources, we have implemented a transformation that reduces external dependency," Yilmaz stated.

Yilmaz indicated that Trkiye will continue to pursue a more ambitious energy vision in the coming years. This vision focuses on quadrupling solar and wind capacity, promoting low-carbon production, and embracing next-generation technologies. The vice president underscored Trkiye's efforts to establish a strong foundation for a just, orderly, and inclusive energy transition through hydrogen strategies, energy efficiency programs, and new technology investments.

On the sidelines of the summit, Yilmaz conducted a series of meetings with Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima, Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Vice President Tariq Saleh, UN-Habitat Executive Director Anaclaudia Rossbach, and Celso Amorim, chief adviser to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. He highlighted the importance of global cooperation and shared responsibility for a sustainable energy future.
