Istanbul: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that Trkiye is ready to host a fourth round of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, along with a potential leaders' summit in Istanbul. Fidan, speaking at the TRT World Forum in Istanbul, emphasized the importance of diplomacy in achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.

According to Anadolu Agency, Fidan highlighted Trkiye's pivotal role in facilitating dialogue between the two nations, having previously hosted three rounds of talks and supported prisoner exchanges. He noted Trkiye's commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue with both sides through the Istanbul process.

Fidan underscored that Trkiye's actions are rooted in multilateralism and regional ownership, and it will continue to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy as the foundation of its foreign policy. He expressed cooperation with partners dedicated to establishing a fairer and more balanced international system.

The Turkish Foreign Minister made these comments at the opening session titled 'The Return of High-Risk Diplomacy: Middle Powers and the Emerging Multipolar Order,' during the TRT World Forum 2025 in Istanbul. Fidan addressed the shifting dynamics of global politics and the necessity for solidarity and cooperation for future security and prosperity.

Fidan stressed the need for reforming global institutions, particularly the UN, to ensure equal application of rules and fair representation. He advocated for regional responsibility in addressing crises, citing Trkiye's stabilizing efforts in various regions.

He also highlighted Trkiye's initiatives in Gaza under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's leadership, including the formation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation-Arab League Contact Group. Fidan noted the importance of ensuring Gaza is governed by Palestinians, emphasizing the need for a two-state solution to achieve lasting peace.
