Ankara: Trkiye on Saturday rejected "unfounded allegations" regarding the country in the 2024 Human Rights Report issued by the US Department of State. "We reject the repeated unfounded allegations concerning Trkiye in the 2024 Human Rights Report released by the US Department of State," a Foreign Ministry statement said.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trkiye has been effectively fighting all forms and manifestations of terrorism in line with the rule of law and respect for fundamental rights and freedoms. The statement argued that the claims in the report "are far from reality." The report's inclusion of what the Ministry described as "baseless and unfounded claims" allegedly propagated by the FET€š¬…¡¬‚¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬¦¡¬‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦¡¬€š¬…¡¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦¡¬€š¬¦‚¬Å¡¬€¦‚¬Å“ terrorist organization was also regretted.

"Trkiye's counter-terrorism operations in Syria are carried out on the basis of the right of self-defense and with the utmost care for the civilian population and infrastructure. It is entirely wrong to portray these operations outside this just and legitimate framework," the statement continued.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted Trkiye's longstanding efforts in welcoming millions of refugees and meeting their basic needs. It emphasized that Trkiye serves as an "exemplary country with a comprehensive and sustainable global migration management policy that is based on human dignity."
