Ankara: Trkiye's current account recorded a deficit of $4.08 billion in March 2025, as reported by the Central Bank on Tuesday. This figure represents a slight decrease from the $4.12 billion deficit reported in the same month of the previous year.
According to Anadolu Agency, the goods sector experienced a deficit of $4.84 billion in March. In contrast, the services sector managed to achieve a net surplus of $2.67 billion during the same period. Additionally, when excluding gold and energy, the current account managed to post a net surplus of $1.47 billion in March.
In the first quarter of 2025, Trkiye's current account deficit accumulated to $12.28 billion. This includes a significant deficit in goods amounting to $15.8 billion, while services contributed a surplus of $8 billion. On a 12-month rolling basis, the current account deficit was recorded at $12.6 billion in March.
During this 12-month period, goods recorded a substantial deficit of $58.1 billion, whereas the services sector posted a surplus of $61.8 billion.
