Trkiye Seen as Long-Term Market by International Investors

London: Trkiye is viewed as a priority, long-term market by international and UK-based investors as the Turkish economy sustains its resilient trajectory, according to the chairman of the British Chambers of Commerce in Trkiye, Chris Gaunt. Speaking at a seminar titled 'Trkiye - a Regional Growth Platform' in London, Gaunt highlighted the focus on evaluating mutual investment opportunities between Trkiye and the UK.

According to Anadolu Agency, Gaunt emphasized that Trkiye's potential remains significant due to its strong fundamentals, demographics, and the resilience of its business sector. He praised the central bank's ability to navigate past challenges, reinforcing the business community's perception of the Turkish economy as resilient. Gaunt noted that Turkish businesses are less risk-averse when entering new markets, which is seen as a strength in their economic strategy.

Gaunt asserted that Trkiye is not a short-term investment strategy, but rather a long-term one, with projections spanning 10 to 15 years. He cited the Turkish economy's growth over the last two decades as a source of confidence for investors. Trkiye is also recognized globally as a strategic country, bridging Europe and the Near East, which could lead to both positive and negative impacts due to geopolitical developments in the region.

The seminar also highlighted that Turkish investors play a crucial role in sustaining the economy's resilience and growth. Gaunt mentioned that despite periods of instability experienced by many European economies, Trkiye remains well-positioned to benefit from foreign direct investment, particularly from the EU and the UK. UK-based firms in finance, tech, and other sectors view Trkiye as a long-term investment, recognizing its high growth potential and resilience through varying economic conditions.
