Istanbul: The 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) is set to convene in Istanbul on June 21-22. This session will be chaired by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, marking an important event in Trkiye's diplomatic engagements.

According to Anadolu Agency, preparations for this high-level conference include a Senior Officials Meeting scheduled for April 27 and 29 at the OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz will lead this preparatory meeting, taking over from the head of the Cameroonian delegation. Yilmaz will deliver the opening speech, while OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha will also address the participants.

During the Jeddah meeting, senior representatives from the 57 member states will deliberate on draft resolutions concerning various issues. These resolutions, along with reports outlining the OIC's policies and principles, will be reviewed. The adopted drafts will then be presented for approval during the June session in Istanbul.

As Trkiye hosts the CFM meeting, it will take on the one-year rotating chairmanship of the OIC. This organization is the second-largest intergovernmental body after the United Nations. Trkiye's history of hosting the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meetings includes events in 1976, 1991, and 2004.
