Trkiye to Host NATO Summit in July 2026

Ankara: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced Tuesday that Trkiye will host the 2026 NATO Summit on July 7-8 in Ankara. In a written statement, the alliance confirmed that the summit will take place at the Bestepe Presidential Compound (Klliye) in Ankara.

According to Anadolu Agency, Rutte expressed gratitude towards Trkiye for hosting the upcoming summit. He highlighted Trkiye's long-standing role as a strong NATO ally, noting its over 70 years of contributions to shared security. Rutte emphasized that the 2026 summit will focus on strengthening NATO's capabilities and addressing critical security challenges.

The 2025 NATO Summit was held in The Hague, Netherlands, on June 24-25. During the summit, member states committed to allocating 5% of GDP annually by 2035 to meet both core defense requirements and broader security needs.
