Ankara: Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Haci Ali Ozel met Thursday with International Organization for Migration (IOM) Director General Amy Pope to discuss migration cooperation and global migration policies, according to the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The meeting aimed to address critical issues surrounding migration and enhance collaborative efforts between Trkiye and IOM.
According to Anadolu Agency, a statement on Turkish social media platform NSosyal revealed that the discussions focused on Trkiye-IOM cooperation and ongoing joint projects. Both parties emphasized the importance of international solidarity and the fair sharing of responsibilities in the realm of global migration policies.
They also deliberated on strategies to prevent the externalization of migration and explored ways to address the root causes of migration. The meeting underscored the commitment of both Trkiye and the IOM to tackle migration challenges through cooperative and comprehensive approaches.
