Trkiye Welcomes Dissolution of SDF and YPG, Calls for Unified Syria

Ankara: Trkiye's Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz announced on Thursday that Ankara is in favor of a stable and unified Syria following the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the YPG. Speaking at the Agri Mollakara Gold Mine opening ceremony, Yilmaz emphasized the importance of preserving Syria's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national unity.

According to Anadolu Agency, Yilmaz expressed satisfaction with the dissolution announcement made in Damascus and reiterated Trkiye's support for a governance system in Syria that embraces all identities, including Arabs, Kurds, Turkmens, Alawites, and Sunnis. He stressed that regional stability is closely linked to Trkiye's security and prosperity.

Yilmaz highlighted the significance of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement among Trkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a step towards greater regional stability. He also underscored the impact of stability in Syria and Iraq on Trkiye's peace, recalling the regional consequences of the Syrian conflict.

The Vice President addressed the economic challenges faced by Trkiye's eastern and southeastern regions due to terrorism and lack of security. He noted that improved security and investment would significantly benefit these areas, which have historically struggled with attracting private investment.

Yilmaz mentioned the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion passed by the Turkish parliament and emphasized the importance of the disarmament process in achieving regional peace. He outlined the government's roadmap for ensuring security and stability, highlighting the need for laying down arms as a crucial first step.

Finally, Yilmaz discussed the importance of technological advancements in the mining industry and Trkiye's commitment to strengthening its technological capabilities under the National Technology Initiative. He expressed confidence in Trkiye's domestic resources and the potential for economic growth through strategic investments in mining and technology.
