ANKARA: Trkiye's benchmark stock index finished Monday at 8,945.80 points, rising 0.42% from previous close. After starting the day at 8,936.03 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index gained 37.32 points during the half trading day. The stock exchange traded for half a day on Monday and will be closed on Tuesday for the observance of the Republic Day holiday on Oct. 29. The price of an ounce of gold was $2,744.10, while Brent crude oil sold for around $71.32 per barrel as of 12.42 p.m. local time (942GMT). The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 34.2935, the euro/lira exchange rate 37.0718, and the British pound traded at 44.4785 liras. Source: Anadolu Agency
