Trkiye’s BIST 100 Index Climbs by 1.40% Amid Strong Trading Day

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, ended the trading session on Thursday with a significant increase, closing at 9,396.02 points. This marks a rise of 1.40%, or 129.93 points, from its previous close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index commenced the day at 9,276.21 points, registering a gain of 10.12 points from Wednesday's closing value. Throughout the trading day, the index experienced a low of 9,256.93 and reached a high of 9,438.32.

Out of the total indexes, 71 saw gains in value, whereas 24 ended the day with losses. The daily transaction volume was recorded at 128.6 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $3.38 billion. The overall market value of the index stood at 8.53 trillion liras, or $224.2 billion.

In the currency exchange market, the USD/TRY rate was 38.0640 as of 6:30 p.m. local time (1530GMT). Meanwhile, the euro/lira exchange rate was 43.5765, and the British pound was trading at 50.4525. The price for an ounce of gold was $3,297.95, and Brent oil was priced at $66.90 per barrel.
