Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100, concluded Monday's trading session at 11,116.45 points, marking a 2% rise from the previous close. The index started the week at 10,898.10 points and gained 217.75 points from Friday's closing value.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, with its lowest point at 10,870.07 and reaching a daily high of 11,125.72. The total market value of the index was approximately 10.5 trillion Turkish liras, or $247.6 billion, accompanied by a trading volume of 135.3 billion liras, equivalent to $3.2 billion.
Out of the stocks listed on the index, 84 saw an increase in value, while 15 experienced a decline compared to the previous closing session. Meanwhile, gold traded at $4,224 per ounce, with Brent crude oil priced at $63.30 per barrel as of 6.30 pm local time (1530GMT).
The exchange rates for the day showed the US dollar trading at 42.4400 liras, the euro at 49.4075 liras, and the British pound at 56.2400 liras.
