Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, concluded Wednesday's trading session at 14,189.96 points, marking a 2.12% decline from its previous closing value. The index entered the day at 14,456.75 points but saw a decrease of 307.41 points by the end of the session.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index experienced fluctuations throughout the day, reaching a low of 14,179.01 points and a high of 14,461.56 points. The total market value of the index was approximately 13.99 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $299.4 billion, with a daily trading volume reported at 200.8 billion Turkish liras, or $4.28 billion.

During the trading day, 88 stocks on the index recorded declines, while 12 stocks saw an increase compared to the previous closing figures. Meanwhile, the price for an ounce of gold was noted at $4,039.25. Brent crude oil futures were trading at approximately $79.65 per barrel as of 7.20 pm local time (1620GMT).

Currency exchange rates also showed the US dollar trading at 46.8560 Turkish liras, the euro at 53.4805 liras, and the British pound at 62.6900 liras.
