Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, commenced the week on a lower note, opening Monday at 15,025.99 points. This marks a decline of 0.24% or 36.66 points from the previous session's close.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index had closed the previous week with a slight increase of 0.15%, reaching 15,062.65 points. The daily transaction volume at that time was recorded at 235 billion liras, equivalent to approximately $5.18 billion.

As of 10.20 am local time (0720GMT), exchange rates revealed that one US dollar was equivalent to 45.3820 Turkish liras. The euro was valued at 53.4560 liras, and the British pound stood at 61.7650 liras.

The financial markets also noted the price of an ounce of gold at $4,673.60. Meanwhile, Brent crude futures were being traded at approximately $105 per barrel.
