Trkiye’s BIST 100 Index Reaches 7-Month High

Istanbul: The Turkish benchmark stock index, BIST 100, closed on Thursday at 10,459.08 points, marking a 2.65% increase from its previous close. This figure represents the highest level the index has reached in approximately seven months.

According to Anadolu Agency, the index began the day at 9,984.67 and rose by 270.23 points from Wednesday's close. The lowest point recorded for the index during the day was 10,186.44, and it peaked at 10,459.08.

On Thursday, 90 indexes saw gains, while nine ended the day with losses. The total transaction volume was 154 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $4.23 billion, with the overall value of the index standing at 9.2 trillion liras, or $253 billion.

The currency exchange rates were also notable, with the USD/TRY exchange rate recorded at 36.4125, the EUR/TRY at 39.4810, and the GBP/TRY at 46.9285 as of 6.50 pm local time (1550GMT). Meanwhile, the price of gold was $2,915.70 per ounce, and Brent oil was priced at $69.10 per barrel.
