Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, achieved a historical high on Wednesday, closing at 14,917.43 points with a day-by-day increase of 2.91%.

According to Anadolu Agency, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index commenced the day at 14,677.26 points and gained 421.66 points from the previous day's close. The index saw its lowest at 14,625.69 points and reached a daily peak of 15,043.57 points.

The market value of the BIST 100 was approximately 14.5 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $321.9 billion, with a trading volume recorded at 304 billion liras, or $6.72 billion. Out of the stocks listed on the index, 83 stocks experienced an increase, while 15 saw a decline from the previous close.

As of 6:55 pm local time (1555GMT), the price of gold was $4,692.8 per ounce, and Brent crude oil traded at $102.2 per barrel. The exchange rates were noted with the US dollar at 45.2125 Turkish liras, the euro at 53.1885 liras, and the British pound at 61.5250 liras.
