Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, closed Thursday at 14,251.29 points, marking a 1.22% increase from the previous day.
According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 index started the day at 14,029.16 points and rose by 171.32 points from Tuesday's close, as the market was closed on Wednesday due to the July 15 Democracy and National Unity Day holiday. The index's lowest value during the session was 14,029.16, reaching a high of 14,254.55.
The total market value of the BIST 100 stood at approximately 13.91 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $296.6 billion, with a trading volume of 185.7 billion liras or $3.94 billion. Out of the stocks listed on the index, 79 experienced an increase, while 19 saw a decline compared to the earlier close.
In commodities, gold was priced at $3,992.15 per ounce, and Brent crude futures were trading at $85.08 as of 1515 GMT. On the foreign exchange front, the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 47.0550, the euro/Turkish lira rate was 53.9610, and the British pound traded at 63.6160 liras.
