Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, closed Wednesday at 14,335.49 points, marking a 0.28% decrease from the previous session's close. The index started the third trading day of the week at 14,458.89 points and experienced a decline of 39.91 points by the end of the day.
According to Anadolu Agency, the day's trading saw the BIST 100 index fluctuate, reaching a low of 14,243.57 and a high of 14,498.47. The total market value of the BIST 100 was approximately 13.97 trillion Turkish liras, equivalent to $311.78 billion, with a daily trading volume of 166.2 billion Turkish liras, or $3.7 billion.
Out of the stocks listed on the index, 71 saw a decline while 25 recorded an increase compared to the previous close. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,732.15, and Brent crude oil futures were priced at around $101.24 per barrel as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT).
On the currency front, the exchange rate was noted with the US dollar trading at 44.9250 Turkish liras, the euro at 52.6465 liras, and the British pound at 60.6675 liras.
