Istanbul: Trkiye's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, opened strong on Wednesday, recording 14,522.55 points, marking an increase of 0.34% or 49.13 points since the previous session.

According to Anadolu Agency, the BIST 100 had closed on Tuesday at 14,473.42 points, reflecting a decline of 0.19%. The total transaction volume for the day was 197 billion Turkish liras, equivalent to $4.1 billion.

By 10.15 am local time (0715GMT), the exchange rates were reported as 48.1175 Turkish liras to the US dollar, 56.1910 to the euro, and 65.6670 to the British pound. In the commodities market, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $4,636.60, while Brent crude futures were being traded at $86.5 per barrel.
