Trkiye’s Defense Industry Agency Signs New Supply Contracts at IDEF 2025

Istanbul: Trkiye's Defense Industry Agency (SSB) signed a new wave of supply contracts with major domestic defense firms on the fourth day of the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul. The deals aim to enhance the capabilities of the country's security forces across land, air, and support operations.

According to Anadolu Agency, Aselsan signed contracts with the SSB for its ALP 400G V/UHF radar system and the homegrown ALP 200A HIK radar. Roketsan and Kale Jet Motors signed an agreement to begin mass production of cruise missiles and engines. Elektroland was contracted to produce bomb disposal robots under the BIR project, while Esetron signed to supply kamikaze drones. Additionally, Elektroland and Tekatron will deliver medium-class ground vehicles under a separate agreement.

The SSB also inked contracts with MPG for armored rescue and towing vehicles and with Koluman to develop specialized vehicles for natural disaster response. SSB President Haluk Gorgun stated during a speech at IDEF that the contracts marked another step in Trkiye's push to localize and expand its defense production capacity. He added that early-stage defense technology startups lacking capital but with high potential would continue receiving support through the Trkiye Development Fund's Innovative and Advanced Technologies Venture Capital Investment Fund.

The six-day IDEF fair, set to conclude on Sunday, is organized by KFA Fairs in cooperation with the SSB and the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation. Anadolu is the global communications partner of the event.
