Tripoli: Trkiye's Ambassador to Tripoli, Guven Begec, visited Libyan officials to offer condolences following a jet crash in Ankara that claimed the lives of eight individuals, including Libya's army chief, Mohammad Ali Ahmad al-Haddad. Begec met with Mohamed Menfi, head of Libya's Presidency Council, and Salah Al-Namroush, the acting chief of staff of the Libyan Army, to express sympathies on behalf of Trkiye.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Turkish Embassy in Tripoli stated that Menfi received Ambassador Begec at the Presidential Council headquarters. The statement also mentioned Begec's visit to Al-Namroush to extend his condolences for the tragic incident.

In a separate statement, the Libyan Presidential Council confirmed that Begec conveyed Trkiye's condolences to Menfi and the Libyan people, expressing sorrow over the loss of the delegation. The incident involved a Falcon 50-type business jet, which crashed shortly after departing from Ankara's Esenboga Airport, bound for Tripoli.

The crash site was located approximately 2 kilometers south of Kesikkavak in the Haymana district of Ankara, marking a tragic event with significant diplomatic ramifications for both nations.
