Washington: Trkiye's Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced that Ankara and the United States have made significant progress toward expanding their bilateral commerce, as part of efforts to reach a $100 billion trade goal. Bolat described a "productive meeting" with US Trade Representative Ambassador Jamieson Greer during his visit to Washington, DC, where they discussed the trade and economic relations between the two countries.

According to Anadolu Agency, Bolat expressed confidence in the strengthened commitment to achieving the $100 billion trade target, stating that Trkiye will continue to pursue a long-term, predictable, and mutually beneficial economic partnership with the United States. The minister shared these sentiments on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal.

Bolat also engaged with the US Chamber of Commerce and the business community, emphasizing Trkiye's consistent economic growth over the past 21 quarters and its potential for further development. He noted the importance of American companies' support in enhancing commercial and economic relations, which he believes will lead to increased investment, trade, and employment opportunities in both nations.

In another significant meeting with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Bolat reiterated the commitment to achieving the ambitious $100 billion trade volume target set by the leaders of both countries. He highlighted plans to accelerate joint efforts in this direction, underscoring Ankara's belief in building a stronger strategic partnership based on mutual benefit.
