ANKARA: After posting four consecutive months of no growth, Trkiye's jobless rate rose to 11-month high of 9.2% in June, according to data released on Monday. The number of unemployed surged by 234,000 from a month earlier to 3.3 million as of June, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) data showed. In June, the unemployment rate was 7.6% for men and 12.4% for women. The labor force participation rate dropped by 0.2 percentage points to 54.4% compared to May, while the employment rate stood at 49.3%, accounting for 32.5 million people. Youth unemployment, defined as those aged 15-24, increased by 1.7 percentage points to 17.6% in June. The rate was 14.8% for men and 23.2% for women. Source : Anadolu Agency
