Nicosia:The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has expressed its approval of the Libyan House of Representatives' decision to endorse the memorandum of understanding concerning the delimitation of maritime jurisdiction areas between Türkiye and Libya, which has been active since 2019.

According to Anadolu Agency – English, the TRNC Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming Libya's parliamentary approval of the agreement with Türkiye. The ministry emphasized its alignment with Türkiye's efforts to promote peace, security, and stability in the Mediterranean region.

The statement highlighted the TRNC's support for this "historic step," which is grounded in international law and principles of equity, reflecting the regional realities. The Libyan House of Representatives gave its nod to the 2019 memorandum on October 20, further solidifying the maritime accord between Libya and Türkiye.
