Rome: Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced on Tuesday that a Troy-themed exhibition will be held at the Colosseum in Rome in 2026. Ersoy shared the news on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, emphasizing the significance of bringing Turkey's cultural heritage to Rome.

According to Anadolu Agency, Ersoy highlighted that the World Heritage site of Troy will engage art enthusiasts at the Colosseum Archaeological Park in 2026. He mentioned that after the previous exhibitions, such as last year's "Gobeklitepe: The Mystery of a Sacred Place" and this year's "Magna Mater," the decision has been made to organize a Troy-themed exhibition at the iconic Roman venue.

Ersoy further explained that the exhibition is a result of bilateral discussions held in Rome and Ankara, culminating in a mutual letter of intent signed on December 11. The exhibition will feature works selected from the collections of Turkish and Italian museums, including the Troy Museum. It will also include a performance of the Troy Opera, produced by Turkey's State Opera and Ballet General Directorate, offering international audiences a chance to experience the Troy narrative through performing arts.
