Trump Acknowledges Foreign Efforts to Influence US Opinion Following Vance’s Comments

Washington: US President Donald Trump believes foreign nations have sought to influence American public opinion, the White House said Thursday. It followed remarks by Vice President JD Vance that an Israeli-funded campaign sought to derail US-Iran negotiations.

According to Anadolu Agency, White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters that the president agrees foreign countries try to persuade American public opinion. This statement was in response to comments by Vance during an interview with podcast host Joe Rogan, where he claimed a "foreign influence campaign" was being funded to undermine efforts to reach an agreement between the US and Iran.

Vance expressed certainty that individuals within the Israeli government were attempting to shift US policy away from negotiations with Iran. He suggested that some members of the Israeli government were interested in continuing the military campaign, despite his personal good relationships with certain officials whom he hoped were not involved in such efforts.
