According to Anadolu Agency, Trump stated that all parties involved concluded that reaching a Peace Agreement would be the most effective approach to ending the war, rather than opting for a Ceasefire Agreement, which may not be sustainable. His remarks were made on his social media platform, Truth Social, shortly after a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. This meeting marked the first encounter between the Russian and US presidents since the Ukraine war began nearly three-and-a-half years ago.

Trump described his discussions with Putin as 'very well,' and noted that his subsequent conversation with Zelenskyy and various European leaders was similarly productive. He confirmed that Zelenskyy is scheduled to visit Washington, DC, on Monday afternoon, with the potential for a future meeting with President Putin. Trump expressed optimism that such diplomatic efforts could save millions of lives.

Earlier that day, Zelenskyy announced via the US social media platform X that he plans to meet with Trump in Washington, DC, to discuss detailed plans for ending the conflict.
