Evian-les-bains: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and US President Donald Trump met on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France, engaging in discussions focused on strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities. Zelenskyy participated in a G7-Ukraine format meeting, emphasizing the importance of coordination with global leaders.

According to Anadolu Agency, the meeting between Zelenskyy and Trump was described as "very good" by the US President. Zelenskyy later revealed that discussions centered around obtaining licenses for the production of anti-ballistic systems and missiles, with the Ukrainian President expressing optimism about increased production if the US supports the initiative. The discussions come on the heels of a recent phone conversation between the two leaders about peace efforts and battlefield developments.

Zelenskyy further engaged with G7 leaders, thanking them for their participation and support in forcing Russia towards peace. He highlighted priorities such as air defense missiles, a winter support package, and increased pressure on Russia. The Ukrainian President also announced meetings with other world leaders, including German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, aiming to advance diplomatic efforts for peace.

In a meeting with European leaders, Zelenskyy underscored the importance of financial support and sanctions against Russia. He expressed readiness to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, seeking China's influence over Russia to end the war. Zelenskyy noted that while China has economic influence, there seems to be no willingness from Beijing to pressure Moscow.

Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio held discussions with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. They exchanged views on US-led peace efforts and regional stability following a US-Iran deal. Sybiha highlighted Ukraine's recent military successes and the importance of US leadership in the peace process.
