Washington: President Donald Trump announced Friday that there is "a major tariff investigation on furniture coming into the United States."

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump stated that the investigation would be completed within the next 50 days, and that furniture imported from other countries would face tariffs at a rate yet to be determined. This move is intended to revive the furniture industry in states like North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan, and others across the nation.

In the previous year, the United States imported approximately $26.4 billion worth of furniture, with Vietnam, China, Canada, Mexico, and Italy being the primary sources of these imports. Trump emphasized the impact of his tariff strategy by highlighting a statement from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), which he claims acknowledges the effectiveness of his tariff initiatives. According to Trump, the CBO admitted that his tariffs have reduced the deficit by $4 trillion.

Trump further elaborated, stating that his tariff policies have resulted in decreased deficits, taxes, energy costs, and general prices. On the other hand, he claimed that take-home pay, the stock market, and the country's overall economic standing have improved, asserting that the United States is currently the "HOTTEST" in the world.
