Washington: US President Donald Trump has announced that the United States will soon remove high-level enriched uranium from Iran, signaling a potential breakthrough in US-Iran relations. Trump revealed that the two nations are nearing an agreement to facilitate this process.

According to Anadolu Agency, Trump made these comments during an interview with the Financial Times. He emphasized that the removal of uranium would be carried out in coordination with Tehran, indicating a mutual understanding between the two countries. Trump stated that Iran has agreed to this plan, noting, "It's one of the things we talk about. It's very overrated. I'm the one that overrated it. To me it's important. To other people, it's not important."

Furthermore, Trump addressed the ongoing fragile ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, clarifying that he is attempting to keep this issue separate from the US-Iran negotiations. Tehran has reportedly demanded a halt to Israeli attacks in Lebanon as a condition for proceeding with any agreement related to the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump also took the opportunity to commend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a "great partner." He acknowledged Israel's dependence on US support, stating, "Israel couldn't have done (Iran war) without us, couldn't have even come close... They needed us, and they got us to help them."
