Washington: President Donald Trump declared that a recent US mission has successfully facilitated the passage of over 100 million barrels of oil and more than 200 commercial vessels through the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
According to Anadolu Agency, Trump revealed that he had ordered the military in the previous month to execute a "secret mission" aimed at supporting oil tankers and commercial shipping navigating the strait. This initiative, he stated, was critical for ensuring the safe transit of vital energy resources and commercial goods into the global market.
Trump shared the details of the mission's success on his Truth Social platform, noting the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz and emphasizing the role of the US in maintaining the security of this critical maritime passage. He claimed that the mission's achievements underscored the United States' control over the strait, in contrast to Iran's diminished military and economic position.
The operation, which Trump described as "wildly successful," highlights the geopolitical significance of the Strait of Hormuz, through which a substantial portion of the world's oil supply is transported. He asserted that the mission's success marks a turning point in the power dynamics of the region.
